Venezuela and Sudan strengthen bilateral relations

The foreign minister of Venezuela, Yván Gil, held a meeting on Monday with his counterpart from the Republic of Sudan, Ali Al-Saqid, in which they reviewed the cooperation agenda between the two nations.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Gil pointed out that, during the meeting, the need to “deepen shared interests” was ratified, based on integration and solidarity between Venezuela and the African nation.

“Excellent meeting with the interim Foreign Minister of the Republic of Sudan ?? Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, to ratify the need to deepen shared interests, where self-determination, integration and solidarity between Venezuela and Mother Africa prevail”, wrote the Venezuelan diplomat.

The meeting was held in Qatar within the framework of the V United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), refers Foreign Ministry press release.

It should be remembered that Venezuela and Sudan signed agreements on communication and information, culture, science and technology, housing and energy.

Similarly, they have signed two memorandums of understanding on socio-labour matters, as well as on education, together with the Cooperation Framework Agreement and the Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment of a Political Consultation Mechanism.

Meeting with Qatari authorities

Similarly, the Venezuelan foreign minister held a meeting with the authorities of Qatarin order to address the joint cooperation agenda.

In his Twitter account, Gil pointed out that the meeting was held with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

“Fraternal meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani aimed at deepening the binational strategic association to promote opportunities through the development of a mutual cooperation agenda,” he wrote on Twitter.

With the last visit of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro to Doha, in June 2022, they agreed to promote new relations.

Among these facts, the promotion of the cooperation agenda in aviation matters, as well as the new investment opportunities and participation in large infrastructure projects in Venezuela, were highlighted.
