The chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, reported this Monday that during the meeting between the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia They addressed the bilateral aspects of trade, investment, cooperation in science and culture.
Gil explained that both Presidents also addressed issues related to the areas of oil, gas, infrastructure, tourism, and also reviewed the entire bilateral agenda.
In this regard, Foreign Minister Yván Gil recalled that Venezuela and Saudi Arabia are united by the principle of world energy trade.
“As the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) we are promoters of the OPEC+ agreement that has made it possible to stabilize the world oil market even with difficult conditions such as the covid-19 pandemic, as well as the wars that are unleashed in Europe and thanks to This OPEC+ agreement provides stability for both consumers and producers to maintain a constant and safe flow of the world’s main energy source”.
The Chancellor of the Republic stressed that the second mixed commission will take place in the city of Riyadh in the last quarter of this year, 2023. “We have outlined a road map and a work plan to further unite our two towns.”
He also reported that a meeting was held between the Ministers of Communication of Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.
“A work plan was drawn up that will allow us to complement efforts, not only in information, but in cultural matters, in the coming weeks we will see interesting advances,” stressed the Foreign Minister.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela reported that he met with his counterpart from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, in the city of Jeddah, the epicenter of trade for the nation on the Arabian Peninsula.
“We have reviewed the multilateral agenda, we share the defense of the United Nations charter, self-determination of peoples, the condemnation of unilateral coercive measures. We are promoting the stage of this relationship with great force”, stressed the diplomat.
In this regard, he highlighted the role that Saudi Arabia is playing in the construction of the new global geopolitics for conflict resolution.
Finally, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, added that the alliances between Venezuela and Saudi Arabia are historic, and that in the last 25 years they have been strengthened in a powerful way. “A historic alliance that we are celebrating 75 years of relations and today we have verified in this meeting of the Presidents that this alliance will continue.”
