The II International Telecommunications Fair (Fitelven) 2024 served as a framework for the signing of letters of intent between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in order to expand commercial cooperation in telecommunications.
With the signing of these agreements, Caracas and Tehran are strengthening the telecommunications sector, while seeking to generate new pragmatic models aimed at developing the local economy.
For Venezuela, Jorge Márquez, Vice President of Public Works and Services, Jesús Aldana, President of Cantv, José Alejandro Terán, Governor of La Guaira State, signed their signatures, and for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Llampur, General Manager of MDC, respectively.
The signed documents include a Letter of Intent between the Socialist Corporation of Telecommunications and Postal Services (Corpostel), the National Telephone Company of Venezuela (Cantv) and the Novin Data Center Development Company (MDC), to install a fiber optic factory in the country.
A commercial letter of intent was also signed to present a proposal for the development of productive activity within the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) of the state of La Guaira, which will facilitate the conditions for the installation of a fiber optic factory.
The third document signed was between CANTV and MDC, with the aim of offering TWDN Decal TV transport solutions.
Iran has become one of Venezuela’s main strategic allies in recent years, strengthening various commercial areas that aim to develop agreements based on the principles of mutual cooperation and strengthening economies.
