The governments of Venezuela and Colombia opened the binational bridge, the second less than a week, for the transit of vehicles, something that had not happened since 2015. During the opening of the binational crossing, the Colombian Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes, reported the governed Piñate in his Twitter account. Twitterwhere he shared photographs of the bilateral activity.

Reyes, for his part, said on the social network that this was “an important binational meeting” in which the authorities worked “on the protocols for a safe opening of the border, key for both countries.”

“We are committed to strengthening relations with Venezuela and, thus, promoting the progress of citizens,” he added, reported EFE.

The government of Gustavo Petro asked the Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro for 2022 allow the passage of vehicles at all authorized points: Simón Bolívar, Francisco de Paula Santander, Atanasio Girardot and the Union Bridge in Puerto Santander.
