This Thursday, Venezuela and China signed a joint agreement on fishing and aquaculture, within the framework of the International Fisheries and Seafood Fair that takes place in the Chinese city of Qingdao.
The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, through social networks, where it indicated that this pact seeks to continue promoting projects “based on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency and to continue maintaining bilateral cooperation relations.”
“With the presence of our authorities and the commitment of our fishermen, we are participating in the successful Qingdao fair, with the best and tastiest Venezuelan fish… We continue to open commercial doors for Blue Venezuela, presenting our fishing and aquaculture products for export and strengthening technological cooperation,” the Ministry wrote in its account on the social network X.
Telesur reported that Venezuelan shrimp was consolidated as the second most important export revenue generator for the country, only after oil. The Venezuelan fishing sector registered a growth of 225 percent in recent years.
It should be noted that this is the first time that Venezuela participates in the Asian fair with a delegation that includes fishermen and private companies, seeking to promote non-traditional fishing exports.
