In order to strengthen the ties of cooperation and brotherhood between Venezuela and Algeria, President Nicolás Maduro, received this Thursday at the Miraflores Palace a delegation from the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdelhafid Heni.
“Pleasant visit to the Miraflores Palace of Mohammed Abdelhafid Henni, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria. The brotherhood and cooperation between our peoples is mutual and marches towards a good future. We will move forward!”, published the head of state on his Twitter account.
They accompanied the Algerian minister, Mohamed Lamini, chief of staff of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the ambassador of the accredited African country in Venezuela, Mohamed Abdelkader Hadjazi.
While, for the Venezuelan delegation were present Yván Gil Pinto, chancellor of the Republic; Wilmar Castro Soteldo, Minister of People’s Power for Productive Agriculture and Land, and Yuri Pimentel, Vice Minister for Africa, among other authorities of the Bolivarian Government.
IV Meeting of the Mixed Government Commission
Mohammed Abdelhafid Henni arrived in Venezuela this Wednesday to participate in the IV Meeting of the Mixed Government Commissionand thus evaluate the development of cooperation projects in the agricultural area.
Also this Thursday, Abdelhafid held a meeting with the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to review the cooperation mechanisms that seek to strengthen bilateral rapprochement, reports a note from presidential press.
The Algerian commission will be in the country until this Friday and it is expected that technical negotiation tables and bilateral meetings with representatives of the National Government will be held.
Relations Venezuela – Algeria
President Maduro visited Algeria in June 2022, as part of a Eurasian tour. Together with his Algerian counterpart, Abdeladjid Tebboune, he agreed to open an airline between Algiers and Caracas, as well as build an economic, commercial and financial agenda for joint work.
To date, Venezuela and Algeria have signed 28 cooperation agreements in the political, cultural, energy, commercial, scientific, communicational, legal, transportation, educational, and electoral areas, among others.
Relations between Algeria and Venezuela, with more than 51 years, have entered a new stage since the management of Commander Hugo Chávez and continue to strengthen with the current Venezuelan president through agreements, memorandums of understanding and programs signed between the parties, reports information from the Ministry for Communication and Information.
