Vehicle production grew 11.6% in 2021, according to the balance released today (7) by the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
Last year, 2.24 million units were manufactured, while in 2020 automakers produced 2.01 million vehicles. In December, production had a slight increase (0.8%) compared to the same month in 2020, with the assembly of 210.9 thousand units.
The president of Anfavea, Luiz Carlos Moraes, highlighted that at the end of the year, the automakers made an effort to overcome the problems faced in recent months with the lack of components around the world.
“We were able to pull production in December, bringing parts, talking to suppliers, calling our headquarters to make semiconductors available, so that we could deliver as much as possible to meet the waiting list,” he said.
