Vehicle production rises 0.4% in April, says Anfavea balance sheet

Industries operate at 68% of their capacity in February, says CNI

Vehicle production in April remained stable, with a variation of 0.4%. In the period, 185,400 units were produced, compared to 184,800 in March. The data were released today by the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).

According to the entity’s monthly balance sheet, sales closed the month with 147,200 licensed units, which corresponds to an increase of 0.3% over the previous month and a retraction of 15.9% compared to April last year. The fall in licenses accumulated in the year reached 21.4%.

The data also show that exports grew 15.2% in the month, with the sale of 44,800 vehicles. In comparison with April 2021, the increase was 32.3%. In the accumulated of 2022, there was a 17.9% increase in sales to the foreign market.

“The sector generated 1,900 jobs, which is considered an expressive number because when generating one job in the sector, another nine are generated indirectly”, said the president of Anfavea, Márcio de Lima Leite.
