The organization Ve Sin Filtro registered this Saturday, November 23, an “intentional” blockage of YouTube for several hours through several telecommunications service providers.
“Several ISPs in Venezuela blocked YouTube today for several hours. It is confirmed that Cantv (the largest and state-owned ISP), Movistar, Inter and G-network have blocked it,” wrote Ve Sin Filtro on the social network X, which is blocked in Venezuela.

The blockade was made just when the opposition leader María Corina Machado and Edmundo González held a meeting with activists through that social networkfrom where summoned to a protest inside and outside Venezuela for the next December 1st. The meeting It was broadcast live on that platform.
The Internet access monitor in the country indicated that the blockage began on Cantv at 14:30 UTC and that it was lifted after 17:00 UTC, however, they reported that it was still continuing on G-network.

“The behavior of this block is consistent with the previous ones of these suppliers. We were able to confirm that this crash was intentional and not due to any technical issue. Cantv, Inter and G-network implemented DNS-based blocking. Meanwhile, Movistar implemented an HTTP/HTTPS block,” the organization noted.
