A total of 434 representatives of the most important sectors of the country spoke, on Tuesday, in favor of the Defense of Venezuela during the National Council for the sovereignty and the peace made in the city of Caracas, before the recent and constant imperialist aggressions.
During the activity led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, accompanied by the First Lady and Deputy, Cilia Flores; of the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez; From the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, carefully listened to each of the pronouncements made by members of the different public and private sectors present in the Council.
On behalf of the university sector, the rector of the University of Carabobo (UC), Dr. Jessy Divo de Romero took the floor, who highlighted the importance of reconciliation and the defense of truth as pillars for the development of the country.
The Roman Romero said that the Council is a call to unity, where respect and tolerance for a nation with deep democratic consciousness must prevail.
He pointed out that this moment is imperative to make a sincere call in defense of truth, from universities, spaces for the development of free thought.
For his part, italo Atencio, president of the National Association of Supermarkets and Self -Services (ANSA), shared data that demonstrate the results of sovereignty and peace in the sector.
Atencio reported that, as a result of that sovereignty, 90% of the products in the shelves of supermarkets are of national production.
He also stressed that 95% of transactions are made in Bolivars, and that to date, 30 new supermarkets have been opened throughout the national territory in 2025.
The President of ANSA said that the sector currently generates 645 thousand direct jobs, representing 4.5% of the gross domestic product (GDP). He also pointed out that growth is not limited to the main cities, but extends to regions where entrepreneurs have installed supermarkets to meet food, sanitary and basic consumption needs.
Atencio attributed that “this progress occurs through the economic diversification policy promoted by the Venezuelan State, which has allowed to overcome obstacles and strengthen the articulation between the private and national sector. And we are already going for this year, which is to reach 40 new stores throughout the country.”
The ANSA representative stressed that the sector remains active 365 days a year, to guarantee the supply and continue with economic stability. “The example of sovereignty and peace have been determining factors for the development of the sector and the expansion of the supermarket network. All Venezuelans contribute firmly to the strengthening of society. These figures reflect the commitment assumed to move towards a better Venezuela, based on a diversified economy.
For his part, the Governor of the State Cojedes, Alberto Galíndez, on behalf of the country’s opposition parties, indicated that the policies that produce repression, sanctions or foreign intervention, do not provide lasting solutions for the well -being of the peoples. In his opinion, history has shown that, instead of building prosperity and peace, they generate uncertainty, discouragement and poverty.
«We reject any interference attempt that affects national sovereignty and the right to freely decide our own future, through dialogue, negotiation and mutual respect between nations. In Cojedes we believe in the peaceful road and the vote as a engine change. The free, informed and conscious vote of each citizen is the basis of our democracy; This is demonstrated by participating and winning bluntly on May 25 and July 27. We are governing for everyone equally, ”he said in his pronouncement, to reaffirm that the Venezuelan government has its support.
Similarly, he called on dialogue who intends to violate national sovereignty. “We can enter dialogue (…) to the constructive conversation,” said the governor of Cojedes.
Finally, Galíndez reiterated his clear and firm position in rejection of imperial threats. “You can count on me in the struggle for peace and reconciliation in Venezuela.”
It is important to note that the governor of Cojedes, Alberto Galíndez, was a winner in the last elections of May 25, after four consecutive losses against the great patriotic pole.
