Santo Domingo.- The president of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Miguel Vargas Maldonado, described this Tuesday as valuable the work carried out by the journalists and communicators in defense of the rights and freedoms of the people.
Speaking on the occasion of the National Day of the Journalist, this April 5, Vargas recognized the great contributions to democracy and national development of these communication professionals.
He also expressed the PRD’s willingness to seek a substantial improvement in their living conditions.
In that sense, the PRD leader called on these word and information professionals to always strive to offer timely and truthful information to society.
“The journalists They carry on their shoulders the responsibility of honoring the trust placed in them by the population that believes in their work,” continued Vargas.

“From the PRD we reiterate our commitment to freedom of the press, respect for journalists in the exercise of their work, as well as our support for initiatives that may arise in defense of free, plural and truthful journalism,” Miguel Vargas pointed out.
