Ripoll said that he had “nothing in particular to say” since he does not know Fossati personally, and he considered that talking about someone without knowing her “is not good.”
During her participation in an event for List 5, Ripoll commented that it seems “strange” to her that there is criticism among women in a political system where only a few of them manage to reach positions of relevance. Regarding Fossati, she mentioned: “I know what her career as a prosecutor has been like (…) but the truth is I don’t know her at all.”
The nationalist candidate also extended an invitation to the former prosecutor to meet: “I invite her to have a coffee with me one day so that she can then give her opinion knowing what I think, what my vision or opinion is on each of the issues.”
Finally, Ripoll pointed out the importance of empathy between women in politics and advocated for more and more women to actively participate in the political system: “As a woman, I think it is good to empathize and that we can increasingly be more present in the political system that is so difficult for women to reach.”
