Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) predicted weak to moderate rains for this Saturday, due to the incidence of a trough that is located in the low levels of the troposphere and the predominant northeast wind that causes a constant drag of cloud
According to Onamet, the rains will be more noticeable especially over Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Samaná, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, La Vega and Monseñor Nouel.
In the afternoon, rainfall will be of greater intensity and frequency in the aforementioned provinces, and will extend to the towns of: Santiago, Valverde, Azua, Barahona, Pedernales, Bahoruco and San Juan, among others nearby. At night, cloud activity will decrease significantly in almost the entire national geography.
Tomorrow, Sunday, the trough will weaken and move away from the country, leaving the forecast area under the influence of a high pressure system that will be limiting significant cloud formations and significant precipitation accumulations almost nationwide.
However, the drift of clouds caused by the wind could generate some temporary and isolated showers during the day in localities in the provinces: Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monseñor Noel, La Vega, San Juan , Pedernales and Barahona.
Temperatures will be pleasant due to the time of year and the fresh northeast wind, mainly at night and early morning, especially in mountainous areas.
National District: slight increases in cloudiness at times with some passing showers and isolated gusts of wind.
Santo Domingo North: partly cloudy at times with isolated showers. Isolated gusts of wind.
Santo Domingo Este: slight cloudy increases at times and some passing showers with isolated gusts of wind.
