The National Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) predicted for this Friday increased cloudiness, thunderstorms and gusts of wind, due to a trough and the influence of the east/northeast wind that will cause rainfall over different provinces of the country.
According to the institution, These weather conditions will be more noticeable in the morning until early evening. over the northeastern and southeastern regions (including Greater Santo Domingo and the National District), the Central Codillera and some towns in the border area.
In the morningrains with different levels of intensity will affect the towns of the provinces of La Altagracia, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega and Santiago, among other locations.
While in the early hours of the night, the phenomenon will continue causing intermittent showers over the affected areas.
The authorities specified Temperatures will continue to be cool and pleasant, mainly during the early morning and at night due to the time of year (autumn/winter), being more sensitive for those people located in mountainous areas and valleys in the interior of the country, where dense fogs and mists could also occur.
Trough will cause humidity and rain on Saturday
INDOMET indicated that tomorrow, Saturday a trough in combination with the humidity that the predominant wind from the east/northeast will be providing, will cause some morning showers in different towns of La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monte Plata, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez and Monseñor Nouel.
In the afternoon, the rains will spread with possible thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind over different communities in the provinces: La Vega, San José de Ocoa, San Cristóbal, Azua, San Juan, Santiago, Puerto Plata, as well as other municipalities located in Greater Santo Domingo, La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo Hato Mayor and Monte Plata.
The authorities reiterated their call to the operators of fragile, small and medium vessels remain in port and navigate with caution close to the coastal perimeter, due to abnormal waves and wind. However, the Caribbean coast maintains normal maritime conditions, so it is free of meteorological recommendations.
National District: increase in cloudiness after noon. Light to moderate rains occasionally. Possible thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind.
Santo Domingo North: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times after noon with scattered precipitation, possible thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind.
Santo Domingo East: increased cloudiness in the afternoon, accompanied by weak to moderate rains at times, isolated gusts of wind and possible thunderstorms.
Santo Domingo West: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times after noon with scattered precipitation, possible thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind.
Minimum temperatures between 20 °C and 22 °C and maximum between 30 °C and 32 °C.
