SANTO DOMINGO.- A trough located to the northeast of Puerto Rico, which will combine with the local effects and the north/northeast direction wind, will cause cloudy increases starting this afternoon accompanied by precipitation of different intensities and frequencies, being moderate to strong at times with isolated thunderstorms and gusts of wind over municipalities in the northeast, east and the Central Cordillera regions, the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported this Friday.
Precipitation will be recorded in La Altagracia, Samaná, Monte Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Santiago Rodríguez, El Seibo and Hato Mayor, among others.
Indomet also reported that on Saturday, said trough located at different levels of the troposphere, located over the island of Puerto Rico and moving towards the west, will continue to generate abundant humidity, causing cloud fields accompanied by weak to moderate rains, being strong at times, with storms. electricity and gusts of wind in La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, Monte Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Sánchez Ramírez, Espaillat, Hermana Mirabal, Duarte, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, Valverde, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, La Vega, Santiago Rodríguez, among others in the southeast region and the border area.
The organization specified that temperatures will be pleasant to cool, mainly in mountainous areas, due to the northeast wind and the time of year.
According to the Meteorology report, in the National District and the province of Santo Domingo it will be mostly sunny in the morning, while in the afternoon there will be scattered cloudiness and possible isolated short-lived showers.
