Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported today that the incidence of a trough at different levels of the troposphere, in combination with the east/northeast wind, will cause cloudy clouds from early morning hours, sometimes with downpours, which may be locally moderate. to strong, electrical storms and gusts of wind in sectors of the North, Northeast and East of the country.
The agency indicated that later these downpours in the afternoon will spread to other locations located in the southeast and the Central Cordillera.
While tomorrow, Sunday, the gradual weakening of the trough is expected, however, the ingress of moisture from the east/northeast wind associated with an almost stationary frontal system over waters of the Atlantic Ocean, will cause an increase in cloudiness sometimes accompanied of downpours.

The rainfall will be isolated moderate to heavy, thunderstorms at times and gusts of wind in towns in the North, Northeast, Southeast and Central Cordillera regions, mainly in the afternoon until early at night.
The temperatures will become especially pleasant at night and early morning, due to the northeast wind and due to the time of year (winter), forecasting a minimum between 6 °C and 12 °C in mountainous areas such as Constanza, Jarabacoa, Hondo Valle, Polo, among others, being able to be from -2 °C to 4 °C in higher altitude areas, such as Valle Nuevo or Pico Duarte.
Onamet maintains the levels of Weather Alerts and Warnings, in the event of possible urban flooding, flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, as well as landslides.
