A total of 166 thousand 320 vaccines were applied during the twentieth “Vaccination Week of the Americas” that took place between April 25 and 28 throughout the country.
According to the Ministry of Health (Minsa) this figure is not final since it is necessary to count the doses applied in areas of difficult access. The authorities detailed that vaccines were applied for various pathologies included in the vaccination scheme of Panama.
Both the Minsa and the Social Security Fund participated in these vaccination sessions.
The report of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) detailed that the vaccines that were applied the most were those of influenza with (95,663), covid-19 (23, 914) and pneumococcus (5, 365).
The Minsa highlighted that in addition to the vaccines, they were taking blood pressure measurements (1008), blood glucose measurements (428), Papa Nicolau (175) and even pet vaccinations (401).
