Within the framework of the execution of the Multisectoral Plan against Frost and Friage 2022-2024, the Government reported that to date more than 223 thousand people (106 thousand minors and 117 thousand older adults) have been vaccinated against influenza and pneumococcus .
Likewise, other articulated actions were developed that made it possible to mitigate the impact of this season on the most vulnerable population in the country. Such as the construction of 6,485 Sumaq Wasi bioclimatic homes in Áncash, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, Moquegua, Pasco and Puno. More than 25,900 people living in poverty and extreme poverty in rural areas of the prioritized regions were benefited.
While, to care for and protect agricultural producers in the high Andean areas affected by frost and cold, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation delivered 2,900 foliar application kits, 720 forage conservation kits, 19,399 veterinary kits and 2,962 sheds.
Humanitarian aid and shelter kits
Similarly, the Government delivered more than 750 tons of humanitarian aid goods. Through the Ministry of Defense, it was possible to reach 85,990 people in 92 districts of the regions of Ayacucho, Puno, Cusco, Arequipa, Huancavelica, Junín and Apurimac.
The aid consists mainly of blankets, warm clothes and non-perishable food, that have been made available to regional and local authorities for distribution.
For its part, the Ministry of the Interior delivered more than 54,000 shelter kits to children and older adults in Ucayali, Madre de Dios, Huánuco, Junín, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco Pasco and Puno.
Similarly, 367 educational institutions in the country received 164 prefabricated modules for frost zones and 115 lightning rods. Likewise, 853 educational response kits have been distributed to UGEL and DRE in the country, which will benefit 367 prioritized schools.
