Vaccination against Covid-19 in Bolivia reaches almost 16 million doses applied

The Ministry of Health and Sports reported that vaccination against Covid-19 in Bolivia reached a total of 15,962,961 doses applied.

This figure includes the first, second, third and fourth doses, in addition to the single doses, which were applied to different age groups in the country with the vaccines. Sputnik V, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer and Janssen.

The total number of vaccines managed and purchased by the national government reaches 23,815,500 doses and the Ministry of Health points out that “to date, subnational governments have not managed or purchased a single vaccine.”

Meanwhile, the country is still in the sixth wave of the pandemic and the Minister of Health and Sports, María Renée Castro, He affirmed last day that the beginning of a new wave has not yet been declared.

“We did the analysis of what happened at the end of the last epidemiological week and obviously we have had an increase in the number of cases; however, this number (…) has focused only on two departments, (…) so we are not going to declare this seventh wave yet“, said.
