The process of vaccination against COVID-19 It has decreased significantly in the province of La Altagracia, since they were vaccinating more than a thousand people a day and now this assistance has fallen by around 300 people a day, reported the provincial director of Health, Víctor Rodríguez.
“Today we vaccinated 328 people, specifically,” he said.
Rodríguez argued that “despite the drop in attendance, he hopes that the population will continue to get vaccinated, since the province has almost 100% with the first dose and 50% with the third dose and they are giving the fourth dose to people who six months after wearing the third”.
He explained that they have not withdrawn any of the 27 vaccination posts and they are not thinking of withdrawing any, so that people who have not yet been vaccinated or want to complete their scheme can do so, which in his opinion shows the wide interest that the institution has and the State in which the population is said to be vaccinated.
He pointed out that they are going to begin a house-to-house vaccination process to expand the application of vaccines. He also reported that they have a large staff that will be integrated into the vaccination day.
In another particular, he commented that in health centers they continue to use masks due to the large number of people who circulate in hospitals.
He also explained that the levels of contagion in the province are very low, between two and one percent. “We, thank God, have four people in the COVID-19 area today and one person in intensive care,” he assured.
He affirmed that, nevertheless, they tell the population that they should not neglect themselves, that they should continue to take the necessary measures on their own, and not because of the demands of the State.
“It is necessary that people who have some comorbidity, such as diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, HIV, do not lower their guard and continue to take care of themselves, they must take their status more into account,” he pointed out.
