UTU will Accredit Knowledge to students of Primary Special Education Schools

Beneficiaries of the INAU will access work internships in the Presidency of the Republic

The General Directorate of Professional Technical Education-UTU of the National Administration of Public Education will deliver knowledge accreditation certificates for the first time to 34 young people with intellectual disabilities, today, at 11:00 a.m., in the Assembly Hall of UTU (San Salvador 1674, Montevideo). The event will be attended by the highest education authorities.

This year, from September to November, the Knowledge Training and Accreditation Division of UTU implemented knowledge accreditation processes for 34 young adults with intellectual disabilities who are students of the Occupational Workshops of the General Directorate of Initial and Primary Education.

In this way, knowledge was accredited in the areas of Gastronomy, Carpentry, Beauty, Electrical Engineering, Clothing, Bakery, Masonry, Gardening and Blacksmithing, in the departments of Salto, Maldonado, Cerro Largo, Lavalleja, San José and Montevideo.

Accreditation makes it possible to recognize, systematize and certify the skills acquired by people based on their life and/or work experience, and contributes to personal growth and professional qualification.

Likewise, it allows greater social inclusion of people with disabilities and better opportunities to access the workplace. ANEP
