According to the latest report from the NGO Utopix, between 15 and 20 femicides occur every month, which accounts for the high incidence of violence against women in Venezuela. It is estimated that at the end of December, the figures may increase due to Christmas and New Year celebrations, which are closely linked to the high consumption of alcoholic beverages
The NGO Utopix presented its report on femicides in Venezuela, where it highlights that more than 230 women were murdered from January to December 2022 throughout the country.
In November alone, 18 cases of violence against women were reported: 10 in a degree of frustration, of which one occurred in the country, while the other seven were registered abroad.
According to the date of utopixthe incidence of femicides is notoriously higher in Miranda and Carabobo, which in 2022 emerged as the entities with the greatest violence against women.
According to Aimé Zambrano, director of the NGO Utopix, between 15 and 20 cases of femicides are recorded per month, which accounts for the high incidence of violence against women in Venezuela.

The victim population with the highest incidence is the population of reproductive age: generally the perpetrators are the sentimental partners of the victims. The report highlights that this phenomenon is booming in the female child population. Although he did not specify the numbers, Zambrano said: “There are increases in cases of child femicide.”
On the other hand, the incidence of femicide in the population of older adults is also gaining strength and, according to Zambrano, the perpetrators are ex-partners, couples or relatives of older adults.
