UTEPDA and UTECT begin titling surveys in Azua and San Juan

The Technical Executing Unit for Agroforestry Development Projects (UTEPDA) and the Technical Executing Unit for State Land Titling (UTECT), began today the cadastral surveys for the land titling process in the province of Azua and San Juan where they will deliver more of 2,700 titles in both provinces.

The information was made known to the parceleros at the closing of the land titling information campaign, in the Villa Campo de Los Fríos community, Azua Province.

The communities that will benefit from more than 1,500 titles will be Los Fríos, El Montazo, Los Guayuyos, La Cucarita, El Recodo, La Cueva and Arroyo Cano. While San Juan will obtain the other titles.

The objective of the meeting is to develop the land titling process to improve the socioeconomic conditions, and the legal certainty of the beneficiaries, “so that the country takes a step of hope that brings families in rural areas closer to social welfare and development sustainable as the Dominican government wants it,” the institution explained in a statement.

The director of UTEPDA, Eliferbo Herasme said that the provinces of Juan Santiago and Hondo Valle already received their titles at the end of July and that the Bahoruco province is in the final stage, for the delivery of their property title certificates to those who qualified. with the established requirements, by the corresponding instructions.

“In what I have been managing, together with my work team, close to RD$400 million pesos have been invested in the PDA los Fríos, for payment of plants, agro-inputs, payment of financial incentives and agricultural and forestry brigades. Only in this 2022, with 75% of the months of the year having elapsed, we had already executed 86% of the resources,” explained Herasme.

The executive announced that in the next two weeks, a routine maintenance contract will begin to alleviate the rehabilitation works of 21km of neighboring roads, between Los Fríos – el montazo / Los Frios-Las Lajas and Los Guayuyos -La Cucarita, with This will solve the unstable slope near the house of Mrs. Petrona Delgado.

On his side, Junior Turbi from the UTEPDA-UTECT Titling component, explained the processes that will be carried out from now on so that the parceleros obtain their titles for free.

The event was attended by the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Eulalio Ramírez, the governor of Azua, Gray Pérez, deputy director of the southern region of UTECT, Duarte Méndez, provincial directors of Azua and San Juan for the Environment, as well as UTEPDA coordinators, technical staff , mayors and community leaders.
