UTEC expands

They point to the development of Sede Melo as a desirable goal for the five-year period

The expansion that the Technological University, the university of the interior, is having is undeniable in terms of building conditions, but also in educational proposal and students.

In the current five-year period, the consolidation of the UTEC is sought to reach more departments with new careers.

In the case of the Melo Headquarters, depending on budget allocations, the development of the premises will be sought with works on the second and third floors of the emblematic old mill building.

At the moment, the Technological University already has very good facilities, with a first-class Computer Laboratory and classrooms with distance education services.

“We have the facilities to be used. Depending a little on the resources and how the strategy is defined for this five-year period, the idea is to continue developing the Headquarters by finishing its two upper floors” held the Dr. Felipe Fajardo.

“For the five-year period that would be a desirable goal” he added in an interview with THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.

“Now we have raised, on the part of the political system, the need to reach other departments with the University, which also implies specific budgetary attention because the new funds, although they are being allocated, there are some new places to go, so we have to see how we can apply it in the best way” commented the Director of the Northern Regional Technological Institute of UTEC.

The Minas Headquarters was recently inaugurated. “We have to give it content. We work closely with the ITR Este, but all of this requires resources that are not minor” Fajardo pointed out.

“Now other places such as Artigas, Florida and Canelones have been considered” advancement. “The problem is that each department that is reached, in the first stage requires many resources. This also comes into tension with the consolidation of the other departments where UTEC is installed” accurate. “That is what we have to try to solve in the best way” he added.

RACING IN HYBRID FORMAT

The Director of the ITR Norte recalled that the UTEC races offer many advantages, among them the virtual component that allows them to be brought closer to the deep interior of the department of Cerro Largo in this case, with face-to-face instances extended over time.

“People from Río Branco, Fraile Muerto and Vichadero, among other cities and towns, have a very good option which is to do the races virtually. We recommend all students to inform themselves and register” Dr. Felipe Fajardo stressed.

It is worth remembering that Melo offers the Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, the only registration period for which closed last December 19, and Water Engineering and Sustainable Development, an option for which there is still time to sign up.

Both proposals offer an intermediate degree after 2 years that allows access to the labor market with a very good training and the possibility of continuing the degree until its completion.
