UTE and OPP presented benefits plan for Soriano and Río Negro

UTE

UTE authorities presented this Wednesday a benefit plan to favor production in the departments of Río Negro and Soriano.

The act was headed by the president of the company, Silvia Emaldi. The director of UTE, Felipe Algorta, and a team from the company were also present.

It is an intensive irrigation plan whose objective is “to improve the entire electrical infrastructure,” said Emaldi. The idea “allowing artificial irrigation through pivots allows efficiency in the cultivation of certain products in the area,” he explained.

This plan responds to coordinated work between UTE and the Planning and Budget Office (SPO) along with the two intendancies. The works will allow the construction of works that will extend some 70 kilometers between the two departments. This will allow “intensive irrigation,” said the official.

The works in both departments are valued at around 20 million US dollars.
“Stations are going to be built, then important works are going to be developed in the department that are going to allow better productivity and production in the different sectors here,” Emaldi said.

The event was held at the Rural Association of Soriano and the mayors of Soriano and Río Negro, Guillermo Besozzi and Omar Laflufrespectively, and the director of the OPP, Isaac Alfie.
