Although the government of São Paulo has made the use of a mask more flexible in closed environments, the three state public universities in São Paulo will continue to require the use of this protection by students, professors, employees or visitors who are in their internal spaces such as classrooms. , laboratories and libraries. At Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), the use of this equipment will be requested even in outdoor environments.
At the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), the rectory informed that in closed spaces and in public transport, the use of a mask will be mandatory. In external ones, use will not be required. “The reduction of new cases, hospitalizations and deaths resulting from covid-19, in the three municipalities where the university has campuses, allows for the flexibility of the mandatory use of masks in open spaces. However, the return to face-to-face classes, with a large influx of people at the university, suggests prudence regarding its use in closed spaces, such as classrooms, laboratories and administrative areas, as well as inside public transport ”, says the statement released. by Unicamp.
The University of São Paulo (USP), as announced by the rectory, informs that the use of mask will be mandatory indoors and recommended for outdoor environments in agglomeration situation. “The use of a mask will be mandatory for all students and faculty, technical-administrative staff, service providers and visitors in the university’s closed environments, including classrooms, auditoriums, museums, laboratories, libraries, public service places and administrative departments of the university. In outdoor environments, the use of a mask is recommended in crowded situations”, says USP. The university also advises that the mask that should be used is the surgical type or N95 type, well adjusted to the face and covering the nose or chin.
At the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), the obligation applies not only to closed places, but also to external environments. “It remains in force at the university to present the vaccination passport, which is essential for all audiences, and the use of a face protection mask, which is highly recommended. Regarding especially the use of a mask, the university maintains the position that all people should continue to wear a mask on campus and in all 34 university units, regardless of whether they are in a closed or open environment “, informed Unesp.
Since last week, the use of a mask in closed environments is no longer mandatory in the state of São Paulo, with the exception of public transport and places intended for the provision of health services, such as hospitals and health posts. Experts, however, recommend that people continue to wear masks, especially in closed and crowded environments.
