The University of São Paulo (USP) will receive, as of today (14), its more than 100,000 students, including veterans and freshmen, undergraduate and graduate students. University requires the use of masks in all environments and proof of vaccination against covid-19.
After two years of distance classes and activities, students return to face-to-face activities. For freshmen and those who are in the second and third year of the course, it is the first opportunity to attend the campuses College students.
“We are carrying out these face-to-face activities at a very favorable moment of the pandemic, because all the epidemiological parameters are decreasing, this gives us the security that if we follow the health recommendations, the risk of contamination in the university environment is minimal”, he said in a video. by the rector of USP, Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior.
The vice-rector, Maria Arminda do Nascimento Arruda, spoke about the importance of academic coexistence. “Academic life presupposes coexistence, the relationship between colleagues, between students and professors, the experience in the campuses, and so many remarkable things that the university brings us. The university, in addition to offering us a profession, to build enlightened people, to form citizens, it is an institution that transforms our lives”.
Although all the negative indicators related to covid-19 (new cases, deaths and hospitalizations) are falling, and considering that activities at the University are predominantly carried out in closed environments, the protocols provide for the continuous use of masks in all spaces.
In addition, new students must present proof of vaccination against covid-19 (complete vaccination schedule) and any booster doses until the second virtual stage of confirmation of registration of their respective call. Professors, employees and students from previous years also had to attach the receipt to USP’s computer system. It will be mandatory in all activities carried out in the campuses of the University.
The rectory also sent, by email for students, guidelines for the return of face-to-face activities. O document provides guidelines for directors, teachers and students, in addition to health recommendations for environments such as laboratories, libraries and cafeterias.
