From now on, the use of masks in schools de Chile has become mandatory again. The Ministry of Health announced this measure with the aim of protecting students from respiratory viruses that have led to a collapse of public hospitals.
Ximena Aguilera, Minister of Health, stated that “we will establish the mandatory use of masks in school establishments until the end of the health alert, which is currently scheduled until August 31.” Although the exact date for the implementation of this measure was not specified, it was indicated that it will be mandatory as of this month.
Aguilera also highlighted the importance of using face masks in crowded places and on public transport, not only in the schools. It is critical to follow these recommendations to maintain the health and safety of everyone involved in the school environment.
Regarding the possibility of bringing the holidays forward, the Minister of Education, Marco Antonio Ávila, emphasized that no decision will be made without the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. In addition, he was receptive to new proposals that can help protect students and guarantee a safe environment for schools.
It is crucial that parents, students and educational staff are aware of this new regulation with the masks and strictly adhere to it. The proper use of masks is an effective measure to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
