In the constant monitoring carried out by the Colombian Geological Service, they have evidenced the increase in seismic activity in the Nevado del Ruiz volcano, this has the inhabitants of Manizales and Villamaría, Caldas on alert.
Some of the seismic signals have been related to the continuous pulsatile emission of gases and ash.
It is like this, in the last hours; Ash fall occurred in the municipalities of Dosquebradas, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Villamaría and in the Los Nevados National Natural Park sector.
Additionally, in the cities of Manizales and Pereira, the phenomenon of ashes has also remained in the windows of homes and vehicles.
The authorities invite the people of Manizale to use face masks and glasses to avoid possible affectations.
For the moment, the Colombian Geological Service, SGC, does not rule out that the volcano continues emitting gas and ash.
The level of activity continues in yellow, classified as grade 3, for its part, the SGC continues to monitor the evolution of this phenomenon and will be reporting any news.
This 2022 the snow has registered high seismic activity and the ash has been almost permanently in several towns.
