Due to the lack of an opinion from the commissions, the plenary session of the Senate decided to postpone the treatment of the projects that authorize credit contracts with multilateral organizations.
One of them is for 200 million dollars and is signed with the CAF (Corporación Andina de Fomento). The resources will be used to finance the program to support the strengthening of fiscal policy and to improve public spending.
The second project, also for 200 million dollars, will be granted by the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) and will be allocated to the “Support Program for the Transformation of the State. These two loans will be executed by the Ministry of Finance.
The third credit requested is for 215 million dollars and will be invested in the conservation of the Py 12 route, the Nanawa-General Bruguez crossing section and accesses, in charge of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).
The Capaco (Paraguayan Chamber of Construction) issued a statement yesterday to denounce the non-payment by the Government to the contractor companies, for a total of 400 million dollars. The leaders of the union indicate that part of the new credits requested by Abdo will be to partially alleviate this debt, which by the time these resources are disbursed, will have already doubled.
