Santo Domingo.-Organizations that receive donations from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), could see their aid or, in cases, see them suspended definitively.

Hours later, the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced that he had been appointed as an interim director of the USAID.
Rubio, who made the announcement during a trip to El Salvador, denounced that Usaid refuses to align his projects with the interests of US foreign policy and said his workers are “insubordinate.”

President Luis Abinader reported that he will talk with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, about the suspension of the aid of the International Development Agency (USAID). “There are some programs that affect the Dominican Republic and we are concerned about some that affect Haiti in terms of food,” he said.
He added that, in case of suspending a program that affects the country, the Government will take the necessary measures, since the amount received in the aid of that body is not something that the State cannot correct.
