From the 20th, citizens with a passport from Zambia and Malaui who request visa for temporary trips to the United States, including tourism or business, should bear a bond ranging from $ 5,000 to $ 15,000. The measure was released on Tuesday (5) by the US State Department.
“Any citizen or national traveling with a passport issued by one of these countries and considered eligible for a B1/B2 visa [turismo e negócios] It is expected to submit a security at $ 5,000, $ 10,000 or $ 15,000, determined at the time of the visa interview, ”the United States government said in a statement.
“The applicant must also present a form I-352 of the Department of Internal Security, agreeing with the terms of the security, through the Treasury Department online payment platform, Pay.gov. This requirement applies regardless of the place of request,” the department added.
According to the statement, the payment of the security, in the amounts stipulated by the US government, does not guarantee the issuance of the visa to travelers who made the request of the document. “If any individual pay fees without being instructed to do so by a consular agent, this money will not be returned.”
The note also mentions that all visa carriers under the conditions provided for payment of the security must land in the United States through the following terminals: Boston International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.
