The United States Government (USA) appointed Michael Barkin as the new manager of the Venezuelan office based in the gringa embassy in Bogotá, Colombia.
This was confirmed by a published communication on the US External Office website for Affairs of the Bolivarian country, where they detail Barkin’s government and diplomatic experience.
Recently, he served as foreign policy advisor to the US Strategic Command (Usstratcom), where he advised the commander already his staff about the implications of foreign policy in the global responsibilities of Usstratcom.
Barkin’s curriculum review that he was an alternate representative in charge for special political matters of the US mission before the United Nations in New York. In that instance, he managed the activities of that country in the UN Security Council, including the public representation of the White House.
Their previous positions include: Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs in the US mission in Canada; Business Manager of the US Embassy in El Salvador; Main officer in the US Consulate in Matamoros, Mexico; and Sub Director of the Canadian Affairs Office of the State Department.
The Gringo official has a degree in literature and philosophy of the University of Emory in Atlanta, a mastery in public policies at Princeton University and a doctorate in jurisprudence of the Law School of the University of New York.
Since 2019, the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela does not have a diplomatic representation on American soil, after the decision of that country to recognize the internship of the fugitive of justice Juan Guaidó.
