US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will arrive in Ukraine this Sunday, April 24, accompanied by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, according to confirmed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a press conference.
During the visit they plan to talk about issues related to US arms support for the European nation, in the midst of the war started by Russia on February 24, according to agencies such as the Spanish Eph.
At a press conference, Zelensky also reaffirmed his willingness to receive United States President Joe Biden when the security situation on Ukrainian territory improves.
“We would like to have heavy and powerful weapons,” the European president was quoted as saying by the source, who stated that “in times of war we cannot refuse the most powerful military aid and it comes precisely from the United States and the United Kingdom.”
He also recognized the support received by other European nations because “it influences whether a certain European state or another can provide us with the weapons that are important to us.”
Zelenski described the United States as a “strategic partner”, in addition to recognizing the fundamental role of this nation as a world leader in the arms field, therefore it will play a fundamental role in the delivery times of the equipment, a delivery rate that still considered below the desired.

Blinken Lloyd’s visit occurs just in the week in which Russia seems to have started a major offensive in Ukrainian territory, after the attacks this Monday in the city of Lviv.
On the other hand, next Monday, April 25, the program “United for Ukraine” begins, proposed by the Biden administration, thanks to which Ukrainian citizens who request it will be able to stay temporarily in US territory for up to two years, as part of the refugee reception plan.
