A draft decree found in the house of a former minister in the Jair Bolsonaro government proposed emergency measures to guarantee the “correction” of the October elections, in which the far-right politician was defeated.

According to Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, the Federal Police found the document in a closet belonging to Anderson TorresWhoever it was Bolsonaro’s Minister of Justice.
The three page document decreed the control of the Superior Electoral Court “with the objective of ensure preservation and the immediate restoration of transparency and correction of the 2022 presidential electoral process“.
The text stated the formation of an “electoral regularity commission” that would assume the functions of the electoral court and what would be made up of 17 memberseight of them from the Ministry of Defence.
The draft presidential decree (with the name of Jair Messias Bolsonaro in the end) does not have a datebut its wording denotes that it refers to the presidential elections of 2022 in which the left won Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, twice president between 2003 and 2010.

Federal Police told AFP that would not rule on the case as it is an ongoing investigation.
The former minister Torreswho is in the United States, reacted immediately on Twitter.
“In my house there was a pile of documents to throw awaywhere most likely the material described in the article was found. Everything would be taken to be shredded at the time at the MJSP (Ministry of Justice and Public Security) ”, he tweeted Thursday night.
Torres affirms that the minute was published “out of context, helping to feed fallacious narratives” against himat times when it is required by order of Alexandre de Moraes, judge of the Supreme Court and president of the electoral court.

Torres is singled out for his alleged responsibility in the assault on Sunday at the official headquarters in Brasiliaof which he was Secretary of Security, a position from which he was removed after the excesses.
