Rubén is the son of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes “El Mencho”, leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel.
According to the United States Department of State, “El Menchito” is responsible for importing large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine from Mexico.
In addition to being considered as one of the priponeros in the manufacture of Fentanyl in Mexico and its distribution to the American Union.
The “Menchito” was considered the financial operator of the Jalisco cartel. He was arrested in January 2014 and released in October of that year for an alleged lack of evidence. Although he was immediately arrested with new positions, he left again in December 2014.
In July 2015, he was recaptured in the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco.
In 2015, the Federal Court of the District of Columbia, in Washington, ordered the apprehension of the “Menchito”, accusing it of possession and use of firearms, as well as conspiracy to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine.
In 2020, he was extradited from Mexico to the United States, where he could spend the rest of his life in jail.
