The Mexican drug trafficker is wanted in the United States for a series of criminal charges, including his alleged role in the kidnapping and murder of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) special agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. in 1985.
The US official offered his condolences to the families and loved ones of the Mexican sailors who died during the operation that led to Quintero’s arrest.
“The two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to continue working in unison on the extradition of Caro Quintero and pledged to continue building on successful collaboration in criminal investigations and prosecutions of cross-border crimes,” the US Department of Justice said.

“Dangerous and armed”, this is how the United States Drug Enforcement Agency warned of Rafael Caro Quintero, one of the most wanted men by American justice.
However, the man known as the “narco of drug traffickers” was found alone, hidden in a bush, without any firearm, so no shot was necessary for his recapture on July 15.
Before his capture, Caro Quintero was followed for several weeks, so his movements, location and habits could be identified.
