US Mail increases and at the same time lowers prices for services starting this Sunday

NY.- Tens of thousands of Dominicans, like other ethnic groups residing in the United States, who use the Postal Service -USPS- (Mail) will be affected and benefited, as of this Sunday the 22nd, with the new increases and reductions in their services.

The rises reach the stamps, from 0.60 cents to 0.63; medium flat rate box from $17.05 to $17.10; big box flat rate $22.45 to $22.80; APO/FPO flat rate big box from $20.95 to $21.20.

Likewise, Priority Mail 5.5%; Priority Mail Express 6.6%; First class parcel service 7.8%; and Priority Mail commercial rates 3.6%.

On the other hand, the services that suffered decreases: The small box with a fixed rate of $10.40 to $10.20; regular flat rate envelope from $9.90 to $9.65; $10.20 to $9.95 flat rate legal envelope; and $10.60 to $10.40 flat rate padded envelope.

These proposed prices were approved by the governors of the Postal Serviceannouncing the changes last year, who assess rates and adjust them when necessary as part of the Postal Service’s 10-year Delivering For America plan, which is designed to reverse projected operating losses of $160 billion. for the next 10 years.

The USPS generally does not receive tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to finance its operations, they said.
