The Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, reported that from January 20 to December 17, 145,537 Mexicans were repatriated from the United States.
Of them, approximately 15,000 people returned to Mexico voluntarily; the rest (130,000) were expelled by the United States Government following the immigration policies promoted by President Donald Trump.
According to the official, in September and October the highest figures of entries to Mexico were recorded.
“Of those who arrived and accepted it, more than 90,000 people were affiliated with the IMSS, they were affiliated with the IMSS to provide this benefit for humanitarian and solidarity reasons to repatriates and all their legal beneficiaries,” he explained.
