Meanwhile, he adds, the lack of fuel generates long lines at service stations and limits generators in hotels, hospitals and businesses.
Additionally, the embassy reports recent incidents in which U.S. citizens have been denied entry upon arrival.
Preparedness measures include conserving fuel, water, non-perishable food, batteries and phone charging, and having alternatives for medical needs such as devices that require electricity or refrigerated medications.
On Monday, the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs urged Cuban authorities to ““immediately cease your repressive acts of sending individuals to interfere in the diplomatic work” of Hammer and the remaining members of his Embassy team.
In a publication in“They will continue to meet with the Cuban people, despite the regime’s failed intimidation tactics.”
For his part, in publications on the US Embassy networks, Hammer himself commented that in his tours through Cuban provinces in recent days some people—“surely frustrated” communists— he called them— They had shouted obscenities and insults at him, and he was ironic about it.
