MIAMI, United States. — The United States Embassy in Cuba assured this Wednesday on its official platforms that several Cubans have already been approved for the new humanitarian parole announced by President Joe Biden on January 5.
The report from the diplomatic headquarters confirms the testimonies that appeared on social networks and media inside and outside Cuba about the effective operation of the new policy.
“The first Cuban citizens have already been approved for the new parole program to the US since the program began last Friday. These people will now benefit from legal, safe, and orderly migration instead of attempting irregular and dangerous routes,” the Embassy stated.

Since yesterday, the diplomatic headquarters has been warning Cubans about the possibility of applying to the humanitarian parole as an alternative to illegal entry across the border with Mexico.
“Don’t come to the border. Stay where you are, protect your passport, and complete the online application process. Applying for this program is free. If they try to enter the US without permission, they will be ineligible for this process in the future,” the embassy said on Wednesday.
The United States has also warned that the launch of the humanitarian parole policy may bring about fraud and scams by people interested in taking advantage of the situation.
Faced with this situation, the Embassy of the northern country in Havana recalled that access to the parole process is completely free.
“Neither the US-based supporter nor the beneficiary in Cuba is required to pay a fee to file the form or to be considered. Be careful with the scams of anyone who asks you for money, “said the diplomatic representation in another tweet, published yesterday.
