US Embassy in Colombia processes new visa applications: the requirements

The Embassy based in the Colombian capital announced that YoProcessing of applications for E-1 or E-2 investor visas beganwhich is why applicants were required to pay attention to the official communication to complete the process on the established dates.

Colombia is one of the countries that most requests this type of visa, due to its growing middle class, the dynamism of its entrepreneurs and the search for opportunities in international markets. Applicants must carefully follow the instructions detailed below to avoid significant delays in the process, including the possible need to reschedule your appointment.

It is essential that the complete application is delivered on the stipulated date, since otherwise problems could arise that affect the interview schedule.

The requirements to apply for an E visa

• Fill out a new DS-160 form. The instructions for completing the DS-160, for the nonimmigrant visa application, can be found at the link: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/. Once you complete this form, print the confirmation sheet that includes the barcode. You must bring this confirmation sheet with you for the next two appointments described below.

• Pay the MRV fee
($315) for each applicant, including dependents. Instructions on how to pay the MRV fee in Colombia can be found at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-co/niv. To ensure that family groups receive the same appointment dates, all members must be registered under the same payment pin.

• Schedule your appointments for fingerprinting and photo and consular interview at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es-co/niv. Please note that these two appointments are only available on Wednesdays and must be scheduled one week apart.

• Attend the biometric appointment at the Applicant Service Center (CAS) located in Ac. 26 # 92-32 Connecta – Gold 4 – First floor, Western side, Bogotá. This appointment will be in the morning.

• After the fingerprint and photo appointment, Only the main applicant must appear on the same day at the United States Embassy at 1:00 p.m. to submit the complete E visa application. The application must include all required tabs and cannot exceed 125 pages for one single side. If the applicant does not appear for the document delivery appointment or submits incomplete documentation or does not meet the requirements, the interview appointment will be canceled and the applicant will be forced to reschedule for the next available appointment.

• Attend the consular interview at the United States Embassy in Bogotá. This will be one week after the fingerprinting and photo appointment. At the time of your interview, a consular officer will determine your visa eligibility. Please note that the consular officer will only consider the evidence presented at the document delivery appointment. Applicants cannot supplement their application with additional documents on the day of the interview.

The U.S. Embassy stressed that failure to follow these instructions to the letter could result in cancellation or denial of your visa interview.
