The United States denied this Sunday (1st) that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was hit by missiles from Iran. The ship was sent to the coast of the Middle East, to reinforce the attacks against the Persian country, which began last Saturday (28). Bombings continue in the region.
According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), four ballistic missiles were launched at the vessel this Sunday and reportedly hit the aircraft carrier.
Responsible for military operations in Central Asia and the Middle East, the United States Central Command (Centcom) published images of fighter jets taking off from the ship on its social networks and stated that the missiles “didn’t even come close.”
“Lincoln continues to launch aircraft in support of Centcom’s tireless campaign to defend the American people, eliminating threats from the Iranian regime,” says a text posted on social media.
Centcom also reported that three of the country’s soldiers died and five were seriously injured during the attacks on Iran. “Several others” were injured without serious injuries and are expected to return to the conflict.

Understand
For the second time in eight months, Israel and the US have launched aggression against Iran amid negotiations over the Persian country’s nuclear and ballistic program.
Still during the first Trump administration, the US abandoned the agreement signed in 2015, under the Barack Obama government, for international inspection of the Iranian nuclear program. Israel and US accuse Tehran of seeking nuclear weapons. The Iranians, in turn, argue that the program is for peaceful purposes and are available for international inspections.
Upon assuming his second term, in 2025, Trump began a new offensive against Tehran, demanding, in addition to the dismantling of the nuclear program, the end of the long-range ballistic missile program and the end of support for groups resisting Israel, such as Hamas, in Palestine, and Hezbollah, in Lebanon.
