The US Government confirmed this Tuesday that its scientists have achieved a nuclear fusion with a net gain of energy, which makes possible a less expensive and clean production with the environment.
“This is just the beginning,” US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said at a press conference cited by the agency. efe.

According to another report, this time from the American AP, researchers from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, which houses the National Ignition Facility (NIF), produced for the first time more energy in a fusion reaction than was was used to turn it on, which is called the net energy gain.
Speaking alongside Granholm, White House science adviser Arati Prabhakar called fusion ignition “a tremendous example of what persistence can achieve” and “an engineering marvel beyond belief.”
According to observations of the Spanish newspaper The countrythe process uses the world’s largest laser that, directed at a tiny ball of hydrogen plasma, generates conditions that mimic the explosions of nuclear weapons.
The results, obtained last week when 192 laser beams were focused into a point the size of a popcorn, briefly generated the conditions of a star at three million degrees Celsius, explained Jill Hruby, deputy secretary for Nuclear Safety at United States, cited by the Madrid newspaper.
