MADRID, Spain.- The United States government condemned the recent arrest of relatives of 9/11 political prisoners who were planning to meet with officials from the United States Embassy in Havana.
“We condemn the Cuban government’s detention of the relatives of jailed 9/11 protesters who were scheduled to meet with US officials today in Havana. Preventing parents from talking about their imprisoned children is unfair and inhumane, ”he said from Twitter Brian A. Nichols, US Department of State Under Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs.
Nichols further stressed that these families “have the right to speak with the international community and anyone else they choose about the condition of their loved ones.”
“We join the calls for the Cuban government to immediately release all those unjustly detained,” he added.
