US company signs with Cuba for non-commercial cargo transportation

The companies Aerovadero SA and Maravana Cargo, from Cuba and the United States, respectively, will work as of today in the transportation of non-commercial cargo, according to official media on the island.

Through a contract signed on the last day of the International Transportation Fair, both companies intend to shorten times in the delivery of non-commercial merchandise sent to the Island from US territory, in particular by Cubans residing there make a report of Latin Press (PL).

The president of Maravana Cargo, Alejandro Martínez explained that this is a company that has only been created for two years, and that it focuses its possibilities on guaranteeing customers in the United States the arrival of their shipments with the greatest security.

The general director of Aerovadero, Mayelin Gotera, told PL that this type of contract allows them to expand their client portfolio, based on the approval of the door-to-door delivery of packages for family cargo, particularly those from the United States, with significant growth in recent years.

To finalize this commercial agreement, they will work with more than 23 micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) from all over the country, as well as with self-employed workers and state-owned companies, the source points out.

According to Gotera’s statements, they also approved sea transportation, but he clarified that Aerovaradero’s strength will continue to be air transportation, so that this alternative will be regulated for very bulky loads and with specifications.

Gotera noted that they are currently creating strategic alliances to expand facilities, in addition to reducing rates in correspondence with the reduction of customs duties approved by the country, with the aim of benefiting customers in the face of limitations and low availability of goods products. in the domestic market.

To International Transport and Logistics Fairwhich concluded this Friday, was attended by other freight forwarders, suppliers and logistics companies based in Florida or with representation in Havana, such as ASC International, Crowley Maritime Corporation and APA Sky Air, PL points out.

Maravana Cargo’s headquarters are in Hialeah (Florida) and, according to its website, the company operates in Panama, Venezuela, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
