The US reaction was recorded one day later of the mobilization called by the coordinator of Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado, in Caracas, where she stated that “never before had society rebelled in this way and exposed the tyrant as it has now,” referring to the action of the population on election day on July 28.
According to Machado, the fact that Venezuelans have come out to vote against the ruling party and support the candidate of the Unitary Platform and that they continue to protest in the streets despite the persecutions, intimidation and imprisonments is proof of “the greatest civic feat in the history of Venezuela.” He asked Venezuelans to understand all the events that have occurred since the day of the elections.
“What happened on July 28 and 29 has the world in awe. We have set a new standard for voting and surveillance,” he said.

Earlier that day, María Corina Machado reported that after the presidential elections, the ruling party had carried out more than 130 arrests against opponents, but only between the night of Friday, August 16 and midday on Saturday, August 17, almost a dozen new arrests of ordinary citizens and political leaders had been recorded.
After the event, the Command with Venezuela denounced through his account on X that the Bolivarian National Police irregularly confiscated the popular truck used for events and mobilizations by both opposition leader María Corina Machado and presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia. This occurred after the rally in Caracas, when the event had already ended and the command’s logistics team was preparing to protect the vehicle.
Several videos show a crane identified with the logos of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) leaving the scene with the confiscated truck, followed by a commission of motorcycles and police vehicles escorting the crane officers who carried out the irregular procedure.
