robert thomasCharge d’Affaires of the United States embassy, toured the provinces of the South, with the aim of learning about their needs, evaluating cooperation opportunities and sharing with ex-grantees from exchange programs of his nation.
According to a document, the diplomat visited municipalities in Barahona, Baoruco, Azua and Peraviawhere he spoke with representatives of the non-governmental organization Cedeso, which works to promote “the rights of Dominicans of Haitian descent.”
Similarly, in the Tamayo community, Thomas visited Batey 6 and there he spoke with the workers of the sugar industry, observed their living conditions and heard about the challenges they face.

Meanwhile, in Azua, the official announced, together with national and provincial health authorities, the next visit of the Comfort Hospital Ship, which under the mission “Continuing Promise 2022”will offer free health services in November.
The Ship, the text refers, will have health operations, in the Sports Center of that province and in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, in Santo Domingo, with multiple specialties and will be until December.
Thomas, says a communication, ratified his government’s commitment to support the freedom, health and prosperity of Dominicans and stressed that it is in the interest of the United States that the Dominican Republic be successful and that its citizens receive the benefits of US collaboration.
