The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday it had fired a senior official over “findings of sexual misconduct” after at least three allegations against him in recent years.

But the media reported that the senior WHO official, a member of the noncommunicable diseases division, is accused of at least three different cases of alleged sexual misconduct since 2017.
In January, the Associated Press (AP) agency named him a suspect in a widely publicized case involving alleged sexual assault during the World Health Summit in Berlin in October.
A young British doctor, Rosie James, tweeted at the time that she “was sexually assaulted by a WHO staff member” at the meeting, prompting the UN health agency to vow to investigate.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesusdirector of the WHO, responded directly to his tweet saying that he was “horrified” for the accusations.
