He recognizes it. He ambassador of USA in Peru, Bernie Navarrohighlighted that our country is a democratic partner of great importance and shares a vision of providing tangible benefits to its citizens, to successfully promote the Western Hemisphere together.
Through a video broadcast on the Instagram account of the United States Embassy, the ambassador stressed that it is an honor to arrive in Peru as the new diplomatic representative of the government of President Donald Trump.
“Peru is key, it is important for the security of the United States and our region, for our vision of shared prosperity and as a democratic partner in our hemisphere, that is why President Trump chose an ambassador for Peru who knows Peru,” Navarro said.
“I am looking forward to working with you so that our 200 years of relationship is the beginning of an even brighter future,” he added.
He also indicated that his relationship with Peru is not new, as he worked with several Peruvian partners and also led a trade mission in our country.
In that sense, he highlighted that he has deeply personal ties with Peru, as he married his wife Claudia in Lima, also mentioning that his children carry their Peruvian heritage with pride.
“It is an honor to arrive in Peru as President Trump’s new diplomatic representative. I assume this responsibility with a clear commitment, to make the United States more prosperous, safe and strong. We share this goal with partner countries like Peru, by aligning our interests we can jointly promote a successful Western Hemisphere, an attractive market for American investment, it also offers local growth, we want tangible benefits for the people of our two nations,” he said.
Navarro is a businessman, educator and civic leader, of Cuban descent and resident of Puerto Rico. He was appointed ambassador to our country on June 16 by President Donald Trump.
This decision was ratified on December 18 by the United States Senate.
